The terms

Split

A so-called “split” is also part of the standard repertoire of a blackjack player. If the player receives a card with the same value in the first round of output twice, the player may split it up and play as two separate hands. This means that he gets a new card on both cards and has two hands in front of him. For the additional hand, the player has to put the same bet again that he had already set for the first hand.

Double Down

The double down is a move that can be used in a rather promising situation. A double down will be announced when all players have received two cards. The player gets the right to double his commitment, but can and must only receive one card. A double down is usually played when the value of the card hand is between nine and eleven.

Surrender

Surrender means something like giving up and can then be announced before the dealer receives its card. If you give up prematurely, you can secure half of your bet. Push/Tie

Bust

A bust is the worst result for the player. You have overstretched because the value of your own hand has increased over 21. Even Money

One speaks of “Even Money” when the player receives exactly the amount he has paid. It is the usual payment in the event of a profit against the bank. The money that has been set is therefore doubled and paid out.

First Base

If you sit on the first base, you are the player who first gets the deals from the dealer. With blackjack this can have advantages and disadvantages. The place is usually right to the left of the dealer. The player on the First Base is also called “First Baseman”.

Last Base

If you sit on the load base, you will finally get the cards before it is the turn of the dealer. This can have both advantages and disadvantages. The player on the Last Base usually sits directly on the right of the dealer. Last Baseman is also referred to on the Last Base.

Hole Card

As soon as the players have got their cards, it is the turn of the dealer. It also receives two cards, but only one card is open. The other card, which is hidden in front of the dealer, is the so -called “Hole Card”. There can also be several hole cards.

Insurance

Insurance (insurance) is a secondary bet with Blackjack, which a player can enter into if the first card of the dealer is an ace. If the dealer reveals an ace for itself, an insurance can be announced. The secondary bet works as an insurance against a possible blackjack that lies in front of the dealer. If the dealer actually has a blackjack, the player wins the secondary bet and gets it 2-1. However, if the dealer has no blackjack, the player loses the secondary bet and the bet on insurance. After that, the game continues as normal.

Shoe

The shoe or shoe is one of the most important aids of a croupier or dealer. It is a container that can save up to eight card decks. The shoe usually consists of plastic or wood and the cards for the game are removed from it. Stiff
